What is soap? - a substance used with water for washing and cleaning, made of a compound of natural oils or fats with sodium hydroxide or another strong alkali, and typically having perfume and coloring added.

Please note the important ingredients of soap: Natural oils or fats Sodium hydroxide

What are handmade soaps? As the name says, they are completely handmade from scratch. The oils like Olive, Coconut, Castor, Palm, Sweet Almond and butters like Shea, Mango, Kokum, Cocoa are melted and mixed with Sodium Hydroxide Solution to form Glycerin and Soap

In Commercial Soaps, glycerin - which is a natural by-product of soap making process is removed and sold separately. Whereas in handmade soap, the all the glycerin that is formed as part of soap making process is retained. Hence a handmade soap is never stripping on skin, if formulated carefully.

To make a soap more interesting certain additives like kaolin clay, oatmeal, fruit or vegetable purees, milks (goat, cow, oat, almond etc), clays, etc are added. In order to feel refreshed after a bath most people prefer to have fragrance to their soap which is attributed by essential oils or fragrances.

The above method of making soaps from scratch is called as Cold Process Method

At My&Ma Naturals, all our handmade soaps are made using cold process method. We use oils and butters which are of premium quality (which can be used for consumption also). All the other ingredients are either sourced locally or internationally to make a premium soap.

At My&Ma Naturals we make soaps in small batches so as to ensure top quality and variety. Hence they are also called as Artisan Soaps
